We couldn't have moved house so last minute without them .Plus we owe Sixt a big apology as our previous review was much worse - owing to my husband not checking his facts and leading me to believe that the company had taken a 200 deposit and not returned it.... turns out that the deposit had never been taken in the first place!! So I am keen to post this much more accurate reflection of our experience. The van we hired was the least inexpensive by far compared to other hire companies and was perfect for our last minute house move.The staff were friendly and helpful, even when we were accusing them of having not returned our deposit. they were also prompt at replying to our emails.The only other thing I'd say to Sixt -which isn't a criticism of them - is to ensure customers are clear that Sixt don't actually take a cash deposit - just the card details in the event of damages. My husband was convinced they'd taken the 200 deposit - but clearly hadn't checked his bank account...So I'm not saying anymore about him!!! Just wanted to say thank you once again to Sixt for your great service and patience with us - the customers who got it so very wrong!!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!! Prices look good online, however they do not include proper insurance, if you want to avoid being in situations mentioned by unhappy customers you have to buy add-ons which double your original quote.Better off going to more reputable companies who dont try and CHEAT you by offering alternatives that do not match what you paid for. On top of the add-ons, I had to upgrade at my expense as vehicle I selected was unavilable, they even made me wait 2 hours later than scheduled as vehicle was not ready! To add insult they charged me for an additional day, which I had to call their premium rate number (with lengthy hold times) several times to have refunded! CALLOUS, DISHONEST company DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
Hired a van for one day,at a price we thought was good until we got the invoice. Only done 19 miles,not put enough diesel back in and was charged just over 32 to fill plus admin charges,was going to hire another one but won't be doing that now or ever again.
Booked a car to be picked up at this branch. I was advised that the branch was closed on a Sunday, but the booking was taken and I was advised someone would be in touch within 48 hours to sort. 3 days later I rang them to be told, "well the branch isn't open, I can tell you now they wont do that". I was told the 'reservation' had been cancelled, and someone from the branch should have told me. I cancelled and went elsewhere. Later that day, someone from the Piccadilly branch rang to say the same thing. He pretty much told me it was not his fault and the Trafford branch manager was to blame. Wow, Sixt must also be a stunning company to work for.
Hi, I want to give a feedback about the service I received for the above rental. Because I feel I have been ripped off by your Manchester Trafford branch. I booked in advance a compact suv thinking its cheaper in price. I paid 200 from my credit card on 16th July. My collection is on 06th if August 9 a.m. I went there around 9.30 a.m the car is not available. The car they offered me is a VW golf. Which is not a compact SUV. The guy who is working there told me he will arrange a compact suv at 10.00 a.m I waited until 10.30 a.m I have no other option so I paid another 247 and took Audi A4 for my journey. Because that is the only bigger car available that time. They advertise car for 200 and made me to pay another 247 Putting me in to that situation.
