The old bank building that is now Brown's Manchester makes for a very splendid setting. Conservative British style menu but with a number of tasty options. went for the haddock fish cake.

For those who have not had the pleasure of visiting Browns. The building was originally one of the old banks from the Victorian day's of "mills and money". The architecture is beautiful. Marble columns, high ceilings and ornate wooden paneling. The building has been transformed into a bar restaurant in such a way that the splendour of the past has not been lost. If you are in Manchester. Take a look. You certainly won't be disappointed with the food either.

Great Victorian vintage ambience. Originally an old Bank or exchange building. Classy, without being ostentatious. Has a New York feel to it. Grand piano adds to the period charm. Cocktails in keeping with the building style.

Bustling space with high ceilings. the main room is very airy and can be crowded at times. The dining rooms in the rear are a bit quieter. Food from the Christmas dinner was well cooked and I didn't notice any slow service after the usual lunch rush. Helpful attentive staff dropped by once in a while to check up on us.

Lovely environment. Less impressive than when I visited this time last year. The crab starter was very average. The salmon and bean salad was very nice.Selection of beers and wine ok. It cost 50 and for the standard of service and food for 2 courses I think it's overpriced.
