Couldnt give me a basic prescription Ive had no issues with anywhere else (Apparently if they could, they could only give 1 months supply at a time anyway). Then sent me to somewhere at the infirmary to try to get it which has a 3 hour wait time inside and 40 min queue to get in. Awful
Somebody with severe mental health issues called this practise today and was told that there was no help until the 22nd and they were given no advice on who to contact regarding them feeling like a risk to themselves and suspected physical symptoms along with depression :( sad to hear. I have seen helpful doctors here but this is the second time Ive heard of a woman on reception being unhelpful with this sort of thing.
I have been diagnosed with a blood clot in my lower leg and due to other issues, I have been going quite often to see GPs at this clinic. However, when I went this evening asking being referred to do another check up once I finished with the blood thinners, the doctor who saw me, treated me with contempt from the beginning. He was very defensive, not listening and undermining what I was saying. I believe to have a blood clot is a serious matter and as a patient I have the right to ask whether I can do another check up (not at the clinic) and what are the precautions to not end up with another clot. The basic thing he could have done was to try to explain and reassure but I was treated like a nuissance: I hope I won't see this doctor again as he was very unprofessional.
Terrible waiting times for prescriptions. I've been a few times as an unregistered patient - as others have said, you sometimes get to see someone fairly fast, then it takes them 2 or 3 hours to give you a prescription. That's going in before 8.30 am so they don't have much of a backlog at that time. No idea what the problem is.
This is a wonderf service thats a great alternative to spending an hour on the phone trying to book a doctors appointment at 8am. The wait is relatively small. The doctors are so relaxed and down to earth and they attend to your needs. Its an invaluable service which needs to stay in the heart of Manchester. Bravo!
