Fantastic shoes and excellent staff.
I'm being rather generous with a two star rating, because my experiences at this store have been a shitshow from start to finish!I've bought ecco products for decades, they're light, comfortable and well made. I had bought a pair online which I needed to exchange for a smaller size. That should be simple, right? Not at this store! I suspected it wouldn't go smoothly when I saw the frustrated customer ahead of me at the till and couldn't see anyone else available. I was concerned when the staff member dealing with the issue was rolling her eyes at the customer and talking over her.It wasn't a case of her being frustrated with an unreasonable customer. I heard just how far the customer was being fobbed off.Even so, I was surprised when the customer ahead of me was wordlessly ditched! The sales assistant had directed her attention to me, staring at me impatiently, hand on hip, eyebrow raised, waiting for me to talk to her first. They didn't have the size I need. She wasn't going to order it for me - I can do that online! I'm not going to wonder if this is just a blip in the level of service, because Flossie here isn't wearing her name badge. What's more concerning is that she seems to be in charge here today. Is this is the highest standard being set here?I gave up completely when she suddenly called over another member of staff to "deal with this" so she can make a phone call. Oh, never mind! Just give me a refund! I'm finished! This wasn't a one-off. Other experiences at the Manchester store haven't been any better (save for one lovely individual, but she was new! ). My experience in the store today actually upset me enough that I'll probably abandon the brand. The quality of ecco products is good, and the price point seems reasonable - but only until you try to actually purchase something at this store.
I love ecco shoes. Have several pairs and they are the most comfortable shoes I have had in my life. Unfortunately would not shop in the Manchester shop again. The staff stand around talking to one another and never offered to help once. There was a couple of other shoppers at the time and it wasn't busy at all. I tried about 6 shoes on and like I said not one assistant came and asked to help. Great job standing around doing nothing and getting paid for it. This will be the next shop in Manchester to close down and they blame it on people not buying the goods. Look at your sales staff? The clue is in the word sales.
Good service and quality shoes.
I tend to buy echo shoes quite regularly as the quality is brilliant and theyre always comfortable. However, a recent visit to this Manchester store has most definitely put me off from buying from there again. The staff were so rude I couldnt quite believe it. They were more interested in standing around gossiping about the customers in the store rather than assisting them. The language that the two staff memembers were using was totally unacceptable for what I thought was a high end, designer store. Shocking behaviour, think some serious staff training is needed.
