The waiting time for the bloods are TERRIBLE!!! The new number system is horrendous, but the care is nice.
Really terrible experience at this hospital. Transferred here with my son from Lancaster. The emergency department wasn't so bad, but we were put on ward 78. Just showed to the bed at 2am and nothing more said so I got in bed with my son. Nurse woke me an hour later to say I shouldn't be in his bed with him for safety reasons but he'd turn a blind eye to it unless management came. The next evenong I was provided with a fold out bed, a sheet and a very thin blue blanket. I made up the bed and asked for a pillow to be told they had none so I had to use my screwed up coat.I found the nurses ignorant and lacked compassion. Ignoring me when I spoke to them. I caught a number of nurses talking inappropriately about patients parents, things which if they were seriously concerned about should have been reported to social services. Our nurse who we had for the first full day seemded like her mind was elsewhere, I had to remind her about why he needed to keep his canula in and then she responded "oh yeah I never thought about that". She carried one baby around the ward with her, including while she tended to other children. I just think this is an infection control nightmare.Being from out of the area in a big city the who experience has felt hostile with other parents behaving hostile towards me and the staff but the staff had an opportunity to at least make us feel like we weren't an inconvenience to them but they didn't.I could go on and on, but to summarize it's a he'll hole and you should avoid at all costs.
Can not described how frustrated and how angry I am with this hospital. There was only 4 nice people to deal with the rest were awful. Seeing how my partner was suffering was a digrance the food was terrible.. and there was days when she got no food! Really am p*issed off! She is expecting our first and after seeing the service I would advise you choose another hospital. Below is a picture of one of the lavatories in the area what smelt horrible.. even to understand that I can't stay with her now has round me up ti the max .. s*it place
