If you don't eat raw fish, like myself, get the veggie platter. I'm not a fan of raw veggies, but this was literally the most delicious sushi I've ever had. Yes, better than a cream cheese filled shrimp tempura roll. My brother, who loves raw fish got the small sashimi roll and he devoured it. "Best scallops and salmon I've ever eaten". The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because it was so expensive.
Ive always enjoyed this restaurant. Last time I visited, everything was horrible. The avocado in the sushi was raw and hard. The tuna smelled and had an after taste. Ordered large sushi platter, half of it came vegetarian and waitress did not even explain that half is vegetarian. Really no value money. They managed to get a reputation when featured in Manchester Confidential. They earned it in the beginning and downhill from there.
Small and intimate restaurant and for those whole like authentic Japanese cuisine this is a must visit. Great menu with wide selection of sushi and sashimi together with daily specials. Staff are pleasant and offer great service. It's one of best restaurant experiences in Manchester without being high brow.
Best sushi I've ever had in my life. We thought we were lost as we got close, it really is well hidden. Inside is small, perhaps 20 seats. I won't lie, its a little pricey, but so worth the price. Service is outstanding, the staff know their menu and dishes. Each plate was a thing of beauty, and tasted incredible. Their sushi chef is an artist in every sense. If you love sushi, go here. Seriously. They do serve things other than sushi. (Make a booking, we went on Sunday night and every single table was reserved.)
This place is definitely a hidden gem, the food is tasty, fresh and authentic. The service is welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is great, it's a small venue beneath a railway arch but it doesn't feel too tight inside and it's easy to have a conversation over the food. Fantastic, five stars, worthy of six! Easily the best sushi place in Manchester.
