We went the week before Xmas.Didn't like the booth they sat us in.Couldn't move as the place was busy.It was too dark to see the food and a bit cramped for 6 people. So couldn't really get a feel for the main restaurant that is so often talked about. As it was our first time there I was a bit disappointed to say the least. Food was ok. Nothing special. Not as hot as we would have liked. Had to send some food back to be re- heated. Portion sizes however, were decent. Bill came eventually ( after 3 times of asking) and it had an extra bottle of red wine (at 28) added on. No one was even drinking red.Luckily, the celebrity we were with spotted it, questioned it and it was removed. Worked out approx 50 each. I'll definitely have to go again to see if I can experience it from the main eating area, hopefully be served with hotter food and perhaps give it a better review. Overall I have to say this was a very average Chinese dining experience, that was meant to be so much more, given all the hype surrounding its reputation.

Excellent service throughout. Served by Pierre who was outstanding. Great attention to detail and great atmosphere. The food was delicious my best ever birthday meal. Thanks to my wife Cassie.

We were lucky to receive a voucher as an engagement present. I was a little worried at first having read the menu online. However, these were quashed during the evening. We arrived at Tattu and were shown to our table on the first floor. There is a beautiful cherry blossom tree that overhangs several tables in the centre of the floor. Our table was to the side of this on a glass bridge. I felt like I was floating! The atmosphere was fantastic, a DJ was filling the restaurant with ambient yet lively music, loud enough to enjoy yet quiet enough to hear the conversation at the table. Our server introduced himself and we asked his recommendations for what to order. His suggestion was to choose 5 dishes to share between us. This was perfect. And the food was amazing. It couldn't be faulted. We had a fantastic evening here, the people working here made us feel very special and welcome. A great experience which we will definitely be trying again. Thank you Tattu. And the McLaughlins for the gift.

Beauty personified. The place has the best decor in Manchester. I have never seen a prettier place than this. The staff is friendly, the food was great ( recommended by all the 6 friends I went with ) Slightly over pricey - but food and restaurant is worth the money! Ideal date place, if you are planning. Or good place to go out for a nice dinner with family and friends!

Beautiful place to look at. Very clean. Front of house let it down. The place was empty at 11.45 as we arranged a table under the pink tree. Which looked lovely on the Web. We would have liked around 4.00 to eat. But we booked in advance as it was my birthday treat. Was informed yes under the pink tree but they only had 12.00. Front of house seen 3 instead of 4 of us has arrived. Showed us the little table facing the beautiful pink tree. Which we had showed everyone that's are table. I found him very rude when trying to explain the booking arrangements. He kept says "no she never" "no she never" "no she didn't tell you that" "no she wouldn't say that". But she repeat back 12.00 booking under the pink tree back to us. He said none of the staff tell anyone that. As they can't guarantee that table. He was rude and as good as calling us liars. At no time he say I'm sorry if there has been a mix up. How can we fix this. She had also made a note it was my birthday as well on the time of the booking . Which nothing happened. Found it very hard to sit down and look at the menu spending money in there after just being spoken to like that. We ordered 6 of the light meals and kept the one cocktail we had bought on arrival. Then payed and left.. One of the 4 tables under the tree still never got used the whole time we were there.Shame..
