If it is raining and you do not know what to do with the children over the weekend, then here is where to go. They do free activities for children (specifically babies and toddlers) during weekends and school holidays. The gallery is great to wonder around as well. There is a cafe () on site though it becomes busy at lunch time.
Great collection of art on all floors of the building. It's surrounded by the park where you can relax in the open air and take a break from life. There's a shop in case you want to buy souvenirs or gifts for your loved ones or yourself. Overall great experience.
Fantastic art museum, all sorts of exhibitions on at the time of visit. Came with a group so booked onto a tour, which was a brilliant way to explore all the gallery and pick up little bits of information. Enjoyed my visit, would recommend and will be returning!
This is one of the best art museums in the northwest. Since their resent refurbishment the Gallery is always light and airy with lots of engaging exhibitions. The resent exhibition of prints from the 17 hundreds was brilliant and the Andy Warhol exhibition earlier this year was fascinating. I always look forward to visiting. The Cafe is very pleasant to with great views of Whitworth Park next door.
Set back against the busy Oxford road where the university and museums are closely. Opposite the listed hospital building.Its a quiet oasis next to an adventure park for children. The Whitworth itself has art exhibitions some permanent some temporary considering ideas on world themes the latest being refugees depicted on a cloth canvas in needlework . The cafe) restaurant is fantastic set amongst the tall trees all in glass. Wonderful vista.
