Islamic Bank
Called to enquire about home purchase plan, at first it sounded as though the advisor was not paying attention, I had to repeat my situation three times before he realised the enquiry and started to log the details, also after reading other negative comments you would think Al Rayan (previously Islamic Bank Of Britain) would have enough sense to do its research on all feedback and make changes especially to the first point of call, very unprofessionally dealt with and lazily handled. My advice is to change your staff to those who are of an educated nature and professional. Then again I guess if you pay minimum salary then of course your staff will be of a minimum standard. Reminds me of the PIA of airlines in the form of a bank..... Dissapointing...
It is unfortunate that I have to write this review. I have had 2 bad experiences (first about 2 yrs back and second recently) with the customer services and one of my friends also had similar very bad experience. The customer services personnel are rude and least helpful. They sometimes behave as if they are lending money from their own pocket. AlhamduliLlah I didn't have to lend from these people but even when I wanted to open an ISA account they didn't respond appropriately. They couldn't even find time to explain the requirements and repeated emails were not replied. The bank needs customers and not the other way, as there are many other options for the customers. All the customer service team should be replaced by thorough professionals.
My money was not protected after I asked the bank to help me get my money back from a fraudulent merchant, they said they'll check with Lloyds which was so strange and Lloyds is another bank :/ worst bank in the world hands down!
