Nice airport but seriously needs updating. Don't use Burger king. The food looked liked it was cooked 2 times. Very hard on the edges. Staff had little enthusiasm to provide a service.
Not sure which airports the reviewers giving this place 5 stars have been to, but it is another example of under funding and out of date facilities. Anyone who travels a lot, and I do, can compare Manchester to many other EU airports that have modern infrastructure, smartly dressed and helpful staff, clean facilities - the list goes on. Sorry Manchester airport, you are just another of our very poor and underfunded airports being bled dry by the shareholders that charges extra for everything possible (pay extra for a fast lane in passport control - really - cant we just have an efficient system?)
Good: easy to reach, rail station fully connected to the airport. Bad: pick up and drop off by car is a nightmare, and they charge you for it. Ugly: escalators are often broken, and even when they are fully operational it is forbidden to carry suitcases on them (who carries a suitcase in an airport anyway!?)
beware picking anyone up, you can no longer pull up to the terminal front, it had changed since I last went and when I collected my daughter I had to pay a 25 fine as I went collect in a drop off area and did not realize till I had entered a one way system , Now I know I shall not do it again, it was an expensive unintentional mistake !
Manchester Airport is easily one of the best in the country, flights just bout anywhere in the UK and using some of cheapest airlines making holidays even easier. Best part is the central British location meaning if you like in the north like me you dont have it travel all the way to London for an international airport.
